A visitor visa (also called a Temporary Resident Visa or TRV) is an official document placed in your passport that shows you meet the requirements to enter Canada as a temporary resident.
Default option for citizens of visa-required countries. Usually valid for up to 10 years or until passport expiry.
Designed for parents and grandparents, allowing multiple entries for up to 5 years at a time.
Hold a valid travel document (passport)
Be in good health (medical exam may be required)
Have no criminal or immigration-related convictions
Convince an officer that you have ties to your home country

The most common reason for refusal is “Section 179(b)”: lack of ties to home country. Include property deeds, return-to-work letters, and family details to prove your intent to leave Canada.
Confirm if you need a visa or an eTA based on your passport.
Gather financial proof and travel documents for scanning.
Pay the $100 fee and upload forms via the IRCC portal.
